The mysterious crystals of the forest once were used by the magisters of the Kingdom of Deer, but nowadays their most common usage is quite different. The lizard folks deeper in the forest are willing to trade a lot of things for these shiny things, or whispering stones, as they call them. According to lizard beliefs, they must collect all of the stones scattered in the forest and keep them safe in their homes. The other dwellers of the forest are not so interested in keeping these things, so usually they find their way to the lizards one way or another. The lizards always try to offer what the forest folks want the most, to collect as many crystals as they can, as there is also a high demand of them in the deer's Academy for further research.
