Sites that handle payments (like Patreon) that start out permissive (like Patreon) but become big (like Patreon) will find themselves at the mercy of the payment processors (like Patreon).

"Payment processors" means Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, etc. You know, the ones whose card numbers you type in when you pay for something that the site (like Patreon) depends upon for its very existence.

Mastercard in particular is notorious for exercising creative control over sites that accept Mastercard payments (like Patreon). They're on a sort of public-morality crusade, and don't permit their payment services to be used for certain controversial (yet legal) products, and will cut the site off if their "standards and practices" nannies say the site isn't in compliance. Paypal also has done so in the past.

I know several people who work at Patreon, and without exception they say that Patreon's staff, including senior management, are not at all happy to have Mastercard's hand up their ass. But it's reality. The hand is there. Mastercard can do this, and Patreon can't survive without Mastercard as a payment processor. Patreon isn't getting rich... they're burning through their investment funding, and without Mastercard it will get worse. As it is, sites like Patreon generate a huge amount of chargebacks from Little Timmy getting caught using Mommy's card (or one they got from a stolen-card site), which payment processors do not like. This was another great project, but I personally would've thrown some money at Subscribestar if the original idea would've been produced and uploaded there. I follow a number of creators who use it to circumvent Puritaneon's rules set by their payment masters and they [the creators] rarely if ever get pinched for it.

Was really looking forward to that follow-up foursome but eh, it is what it is.

They consider anything that has "A strong focus on animal sexual traits" to be Zoophilia. Not specifically furry on human. Applies to anything they want it to in that respect and have been yoinking people's patreons out from under them entirely, including all account access.

Damn man it's such a shame.. i was really expecting this mostly because of chica since i'm not into gay content that much, I hope more artists like mandyfoxy whose art has humans in relationships with non-humans are considering moving to some other crowdfunding place which doesn't compromise their work they way they originally envisioned because right now patreon is no longer a suitable place for that kind of content or even something as basic as orgies/group sex, at this rate i wouldn't be surprised if one day patreon banned nsfw content alltogether.
