MemberI think this is a very interesting and good piece of art, but I am one of those people and hence must ask the questions: what exactly is the mechanism doing on that rifle, and why does it have what appears to me as a sharp stick inside the barrel? But again, cool image

MemberIt's a percussion lock mechanism. And a socket bayonet, which are oriented on the right side of the barrel rather than the underside.

MemberThank you for pointing out the bayonet being positioned on the other side of the barrel, but there doesn’t appear to be a cap for the striker to hit, nor is it in the fired position despite the smoke suggesting that they had just fired a volley.
