Are you fucking kidding? How about admin receives a record for having an overinflated sense of self worth and not understanding a meme when he sees one? Seriously, punch that phrase into your preferred search engine and see what comes up.

They told us something that should be kept to themselves. Wishing/wanting to be characters that are in a sexual situation AND announcing that is against the rules. It doesn't matter if it's a meme or not or if it got lots of upvotes it still was against the rules they agreed for when they signed up, that EVERYONE agreed to.

This is based solely on the way I think this works, so don't take everything I said as facts. If you still have questions about the rules you could ask at the forum or send a message to an admin asking how the rules work, just check their profiles beforehand there should be a list with things they can help you with. Hope this helped you.

    Take care! (⠀👍⠀'⠀⠀▽⠀'⠀)

It's funny sometimes because I've seen far far far worse comments before that were weeks, months, years old that were on very popular pics and they weren't marked.
And I've seen some that weren't even that bad at all period, that were marked.
This is why I don't really comment that much.

    • If the comments is 1+ month(s) old, they aren't eligible for reporting anymore. Ofc, there are exceptions like comments with malicious links, doxxing and liking to pirated content.
    • You mean marking the comments with that red message below? I think that feature is recent so it's understandable that only recent comments after adding that feature to have that message below.
      • Some comments don't get that red message below, I'm not sure why, but if you check the records of a user there's a probability that they already got warned because of a certain comment, but that comment didn't get marked with the red message below.
    • You can ask for your record to be cleared or decayed. So there's the chance that the old comments that you said to be rule breaking, but weren't warned, to be warned before, but it decayed/cleared.
      • Neutral record -> Cleared (6 months in total to clear).
      • Negative record -> Decayed to Neutral -> Clear (6 months to decay to neutral + 6 months to clear it).
      • Suspension -> Decayed to Negative -> Decayed to Neutral -> Clear (6 months to decay to negative + 6 months to decay to neutral + 6 months to clear).
    • Admins aren't Omniscient/Omnipresent, they won't (probably) know of someone breaking a rule in comments as there are too many comments a day for them to keep track of it, so for the most part, they rely on people opening tickets and pointing to rule breakers.
    • Sometimes the admins may give warnings based on some kind of misunderstanding that could be from the reporter, the admin or both. In these case people can appeal it with the head admin, just be polite and don't make a scene/rant this is a surefire way for you to receive another warning AND to not get an appeal.
    • Some "Not so bad" comments could be still breaking the rules in some way that for you aren't that obvious.
    • That person was already warned/cleared and given multiple chances, but are still breaking the rules or bordering doing it.

Regarding not commenting not so much out of fear from a neutral/negative, that's fine. I was also there before, but I tried to understand how things work, tried to understand the reasons for it and today I think I have a much better grasp on what is an acceptable comment or not, so I much more confident in commenting.

The rules aren't perfect, but for the most part, for me, they are fine. I'm sure the admins are working to make them more descriptive and hopefully separate the categories more as of now there's a bunch of things being lumped on "Creepy Comments" or "Trolling or Spamming" that could have their own separate category like "TMI", "Sexual Fantasies" or "Drama Baiting", something like that.

Hope this helps you in some way and again this is only based on my perspective about the matter, I could be very well saying gibberish and don't realize it. If you have anymore questions you could try asking at the forums or the admins as I think they are much better equiped to answear this kind of thing.

People can put their crazy pedophilic rape fantasies with incredibly disturbing implications on this site without a single question being asked, but as soon as someone puts a comment on a post that is deemed "unacceptable", that's when the mods step in and do something.

I don't think I'll ever understand the logic behind this site, but you know what, it's a good site, and I can blacklist the nasty stuff so long as the uploader tags it correctly, so I can'treally complain.

Until I leave a comment saying to tag something correctly so my blacklist works and the mods give me a negative record for that.

  • These sudden new flags are abusive by whoever is doing that and should step down. The comments I've been seeing getting records are in no way harmful to the comment community and makes people afraid to just comment.

Don't just spew insults in the comments. That's not really constructive.

I mean honestly this particular case was not hard to avoid on the mods part lmao. Like there's training wheels and then there's a picture book about riding a bike. This scenario was easier than both to avoid. And if anything regardless of how he points out their flaw its constructive considering he's highlighting the problem people may or may not actually have with the mod system. Most good mods would see something like this and fix the problem at it's core by making choices like the one that caused all of this much more transparent and not as randomly targeted as it seems. When you have a pretty harmless comment get struck with almost no real explanation followed by another strike to a comment that's surprised about the first strike, it comes off more as bad moderating than a mistake. Especially cause of the 2nd warning... A mistake is one thing but this one definitely seemed like someone doubling down instead of correcting the mistake. You cant expect people to be polite about someone else with a responsibility failing to take accountability for their own misunderstanding. In this case a meme gone wrong...

Yes, we know that it's a meme. No, it's still creepy, and we don't want comments like that around.
Just because it's a joke does not somehow make it an acceptable thing to say.

Giving the warning to Kaykorr wasn't a big deal, I'm not sure why people are making it out to be one.
It's just a neutral record, not a ban. Those decay within 6 months. Just chill, don't make more creepy comments, and you'll be fine.

And I'm not sure why you keep talking about "handling mistakes" on the part of admins. It wasn't a mistake.
The other warnings in this thread were given for insulting people. Again, just neutral records, not bans.

That is the fucking tamest comment i've ever seen, even outside the meme. It's practically prudish. Just feels like an excuse for arrogant flexing of power.

E: "Don't be a troll" i'm told for expressing criticism, in a show of hilarious irony.

  • When did Xi Jinping become a moderator on a furry porn site? Feel free to hand out more warnings; I'm sure your abuse of power will show everyone how right you are.

Real talk though, just admit you're wrong. Were the 357 upvotes not enough to convince you all? Or is there some cognitive dissonance where you think a whopping 357 people on a single image disagreeing with you are all simply wrong? If you think you're making a statement, you're not making the one you think you are, unless you wanted to show that you're petty.

Hey thanks bitwolfy for the record on my account. It's nice to know you read my message. It's unfortunate you didn't respond, but now that I know you've read it I'll ask again: are the 357 people that liked that comment wrong about whether it qualifies as creepy? If so, does that instill any doubt in either your interpretation of the rules or representation of the community? It's not a hard question. Speaking of, how come there's no "user received a warning for this message" under my comment? Was there a mistake and you erroneously gave me a warning? I whole-heartedly ask that, if there was no mistake, you add one so that everyone else can see what you consider off limits to say. I can't think of a reason why you'd only want to warn me personally unless you thought you'd look bad. But you don't look bad, so just add a warning saying I was in the wrong.

I must have forgotten to click the "Warning" button, my bad. I went through a bunch of reports this morning, two were about your comment.
No, I don't care about "looking bad" or whatever it is you are accusing me of. Fixed now.

I don't think that those people are making a judgement on whether or not that comment is creepy or not.
It is still inappropriate, though. And that is not just my interpretation, it's the site's policy that has been enforced for years now.
I already talked about this in the comments above, and I don't really want to repeat myself.

    Okay, so..
Instead of arguing whether people are breaking this rule or not, because, I guess they are, I want to point out something else.
Every time a conversation like this happens on this site, whatever mod in question is basically on the losing side when it comes to.. well, being liked.
This rule is liked by.. well, almost nobody, it's probably the biggest flaw this site has, whatever your reasoning, it's clear to me that your audience disagrees, almost unanimously.
I can't tell you what to do, but I can suggest it I suppose, and my suggestion is for this rule to be dropped.

I will counter that with saying it is certainly not the majority, just a loud minority. Many artists and users appreciate that we don't let the comments devolve into the deeply sexual comments found on other sites.

    Perhaps simply loosened, then?
I mean, I could understand certain types of comments are kinda weird, have seen a few of them, myself.
But often I see comments get this warning for some very mild stuff - for example in here where someone just quoted a meme..

We have loosened the restrictions somewhat last year. Kaykorr's comment would not typically receive a record today, for example.
But it's highly unlikely that we will be removing them entirely.

Without such restrictions, the comment section will look like the one on rule34.
See for yourself: https://rule34.xxx/index.php?page=comment&s=list. Everyone is horny / roleplaying.
That effectively destroys all ability to have normal conversations in the comments.
You are not going to be able to have a discussion when there are a dozen other people around you talking about how they want to be fucked in every hole.

Because it definitely isn't and some of the people who follow said rule do so waaay too strictly. A simple "I wish that were me" or whatever is completely different from whatever the fuck happens on sites like rule34...
What really gets me is that there are comments exactly like this one that get tons of upvotes and zero warning. I am willing to bet that some fall through the cracks and whatnot but there's no way in hell it's just Rainbow Dash becoming batman for these specific comments and there's no way in hell mods miss the comments that have massive support while pretty much being a carbon copy of a comment that would be seen as "problematic".

(Would love to add my two cents to this because I've also had strange mod experiences, but all I'm going to say is sometimes I wish you could turn off comments entirely so you can just enjoy the posts without someone complaining about a certain tag religiously or having to be reminded of the presence of mods that are a bit too strict.)
