Hi there, I have a character tag that I'm looking to rename, it has 33 posts. Is it a possibility to have a mod edit it or is my best bet to go through each submission and manually change it?

You could submit a Bulk Update Request (BUR) for a mass update of a tag (in your case, a character tag) from one name to another (update aaa -> bbb) to save effort of manually changing it one by one.

Make an alias request. It will replace old name with new, and redirect people searching for old name to new one.
It should look something like this:
Tag Alias Request
From
koda_(dak47922)
To
*new name*
