I don't want this to come off as me venting, it's just something I see a lot online and in irl. I just wish that people all understood that depression wasn't just "being sad." Better yet, took mental health seriously and tried to put in the time to understand the basics of what their friends and loved ones might go through. I personally see it with depression since I have it, I'd imagine. I also imagine people with say bipolar or ODD experience what I'm talking about as well, I just don't see it because that's not something I have. Again, I just want mental health taken more seriously, that's all.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I tried tagging them 'fox' when I first started uploading but it kept getting removed so I stopped.
Probably would've been more accurate to the designer's intentions to tag them fennec fox but I don't mind. Inspired by, not supposed to be, I guess.

I don't want it to appear when I search fox tbh. Though fox -pokemon_(species) works fine even if it's tagged fox.

Anyways I was curious what the search would return because there's an alias request to merge canid and canine.

Still it's slightly weird that these tags shows up as trending all at once.

I'm still thinking that there's some bot activity causing some of this. all three of these tags are getting way more traffic than they should be, given their population ranges from linux having ~360, to javascript having literally 5.

like, did someone send out their AI agent to look up information on code and somehow it just ended up searching "JavaScript" on here literally thousands of times a day every day over the past 10 days?

tryna perform a Goonvestigation™ to find who the fuck made this one oc i keep seeing with only 9 usages of their tag on e621 but several untagged usages of said character here. checking furaffinity posts just rarely brings up someone by the name of "RQ". i feel like a private investigator except its someone who i cant even trace down on furaffinity due to the search system not allowing me to search for TWO LETTERS placed together. if shit gets REALLY fucking dire then i might have to dm that one person that i asked about the kanye album before about the character cuz theyve done art featuring them. either that or dm the other 2 or 3 artists ive seen make art of them, but i REALLY dont wanna resort to being even more of an annoying ass. if anyone is willing to assist, then please let me know.

to celebrate "cup" being the #1 tag on trending, i am buying a big cup of dr pepper from the gas station

Woah, neat! Trending searches on the homepage. Let's check it out...

Trending
1. cup
2. living_statue
3. standing
4. fox_mccloud
5. water

I think it's trying to send a message about barrel rolls, having been petrified, and staying hydrated / asking for some hydration.

hi_res is the third most populated tag, with quite a margin between it and 4th. and it shows up the very top of the tag list on the post show page at all times (or at least every time I've ever looked at it), which makes the wiki page and search links the first and second hyperlink on the page after site navigation.

if we did have a massive amount of just straight web crawlers, from the frequency and location of the links, that does seem like the kinda things that they'd gravitate towards, no?

I guess that's possible.
But it's fluctuating quite a bit – it may be #2 on the list today, but it was #30 yesterday, and #37 the day before that.

Still something to keep an eye on, I suppose.

@dba_afish: ...wouldn't it just be more practical to use a decoy account and the API? (and then i remember that the API has incredibly poor documentation, even 3rd-party, so it's pointless (and impractical))

Bots looking up a tag that's present on over half of the website?

Is the site testing some kind of “trending topics” feature for tags?

Something like that showed up on the homepage lol

Phew, been binging Yu-Gi-Oh GX (eng dub) on youtube. I know it's flawed, but heck, it was part of my childhood, and i still like it, makes me feel all fuzzy inside. Gotta resub on Crunchyroll to binge 5D's (eng sub) next.

Finally got my palworld mods (mostly) working at least the oals aren't Squished and stretched into eldritch horrors but a few are missing their new body types and just stayed original probably just need to re-download some

I'd rather not have to blunt my language in a way that indirectly benefits the companies behind AI. If you think the term clanker should be banned, why not make a forum thread suggesting it? I'd like to see people weigh in there and know what the actual policy is.

Enough people disliking AI, as shown by the language they use, might end up in policy against it which ends up lowering prices.

If you read back your forums, people have already told you that the term is also used alternatively for racial/ableist slurs. (forum #482569)
It's not that we support AI. And I understand you're NOT using the term to refer to people, but please keep in mind that not all people are comfortable with the word because of aforementioned usage. I'm not part of those who are uncomfortable with it, so I don't mind you using it in DMails.

not all that surprising, honestly. AI gen video is, at best, the visual equivalent to those obviously fake Tumblr stories or Reddit r/aita stories. and flash-in-the-pan meme videos that whose target are audience is AI bros and essentially infants, are unlikely to drum up a sustainable paying userbase...

especially when other models exist both before and after that are better suited for AI video's main purpose: creating more and more AI generated advertisements for scams and scam products.

Makes sense but every now and then I saw a video made by Sora on X. Ig I was following a very few people who were paying for it.

@StrahasPilot: dent in your head in utero

Ironic you say that because I've been complemented a few times on the shape of my skull. In fact, I have a shaved head to accentuate it. It's one of the few parts of my body that I don't hate.

Deep clean your mousepads and keyboards, people. I just did that and they were pretty nasty. Glad to have all that gross crap washed off and not on my desk.

It's about your racist-sounding epithets. You unironically calling AI systems "clankers" every time it's brought up in conversation isn't making RAM cheaper or graphics cards more affordable, it's honestly just annoying. I say this as someone who hates how AI is being (ab)used in every industry it touches, including my hobbies. There are plenty of ways to express a strong dislike for AI that don't involve abusive and (ironically) humanizing language.

Well, that's definitely not stopping you from talking like one. You're still succumbing to the deeply reactionary urge to characterize something you dont like as a subalternized class of semites so you have an excuse to call them made up slurs and fantasize about mass violence against a degenerate horde.

I don't know how wanting to destroy these programs and redistribute their hardware is somehow characterizing them as a subalternized class of Semites. I wasn't thinking of or referring to any specific ethnic or religious group. Plus my preferred solution is less violence, more redistribution - ever played ARC Raiders? It's more like the looting part than the shooting part. Give away the RAM to anyone who asks for it, in other words, rather than have it churning out useless slop.

I agree with the sentiment, but like, 'bit pot-kettle here.

I'm pretty sure that you've wished death and/or stated your desire to kill groups or individuals (usually a type of artist or furry you don't like) at least once a month on Tumblr (I'm pretty sure you've used the word "genocide" a couple times, even). I mean, I just checked and you said "Kill all western furries now." 21 hours ago.

don't act like you're above the hyperbolic violent speech.
