Maybe tags that people filter count towards "trending"? So if there are a lot of people searching with -ambiguous_gender that gets considered as trending. Idk just a guess.

I'd be kinda surprised by having many exclude ambiguous_gender as well, though...

I don't have much other data, and this isn't exactly analogous, but there weren't any people who had put ambiguous_gender in their blacklist in any of the "what's your blocklist" threads.
