Carlos Ray Norris (March 10, 1940 – March 19, 2026), more commonly known as Chuck Norris was an American United States Air Force veteran, martial artist, actor, screenwriter, and author. He held black belts in karate, taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and judo. He invented his own discipline: Chun Kuk Do.
Throughout the 1970s all the way to the year 2000 Chuck Norris starred in various action movies and shows such as Delta Force, Walker, Texas Ranger, Firewalker, and as a major antagonist in Return of the Dragon with Bruce Lee.
In 2005, for several years, Chuck Norris became the subject of various internet memes that greatly exaggerated his feats of strength, toughness, and intimidation factorto almost godlike levels. These became known as Chuck Norris facts. Examples include: "Chuck Norris was once bitten by a king cobra; after ten excruciating minutes, the cobra died.", "When Chuck Norris does push-ups, he doesn't push himself up, he pushes the Earth down.", "Chuck Norris actually died 20 years ago, but Death hasn't built up the courage to tell him yet.", "Chuck Norris doesn't go swimming, water just wants to be around him. And he doesn't get wet, water gets Chuck Norris."
This reputation has also been used for comedic affect in shows like Family Guy, Epic Rap Battles of History, Death Battle, and of course The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny.
