underground comix

Underground Comix describes an artistic movement in the United States and United Kingdom during the 1960s and 1970s which involved small run, independently published comic books which often featured social satire, political commentary, explicit sexual content, crude humour, and drug usage. The Underground Comix movement is a part of the early roots of the Furry Fandom, many of these independent comics featured mature depictions of anthropomorphic characters.

This tag can be used for modern posts clearly intended to evoke Underground Comix (often aping the style of Robert Crumb), or for scanned artwork that is of the era (these should be tagged as ancient art if they predate 1980).
