Breaking Bad is a neo-Western crime drama developed by Vince Gilligan. It aired from January 20th 2008 and ended on September 29th 2013. It spawned a prequel/sequel series called Better Call Saul from Feburary 9th 2015 to August 15th 2022, and a movie sequel, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie on October 11th 2019.
Following a terminal lung cancer diagnosis, mild-mannered high-school chemistry teacher, Walter White, partners up with a former student, Jesse Pinkman, to manufacture methamphetamine in order to earn enough money for his family upon Walter's death.
Over the course of the series, Walt succumbs to the power and wealth that his 'product' has brought him and he transforms into the biggest methamphetamine kingpin in the South-Western United States. Walt forms his own empire and largely abandons his original plan since he, in his own words: "(I) did it for me. I liked it. I was good at it. And I was really... I was really alive"
