Topic: Background Balloons

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

At this point I think I'm the only one who cares, but here it is.

Usually, especially at birthday party art, the balloons are in the background and not being interacted with. They're simply wall or ceiling decorations.

My question is this: would a tag like balloon_background be justifiable, or it's a waste in your opinion?

I don't think something opposite like balloon_focus would work, just because a character is holding a balloon (the focus will almost always be on character anyway).

The only counterargument I see in this is that we already have tags for holding, popping, riding and being supported by balloons, which in theory would make the tag redundant, however, I usually sort my results by order:random and it'd be helpful to rule out balloon backgrounds from my balloon results.

My second question is if you're fine with the tag existing, should it apply only when the balloons are in the background and not being interacted with? (contrary to an example if you have birthday decorations in the background but also have a character interacting with one)

I believe this would be too niche for a tag.

After some thought, I agree. For like 80% of the cases, explicit art where balloons are being interacted with are already tagged as balloon_fetish. So that 20% + safe art doesn't really matter for tagging it.
