Topic: HTTYD Toothless & Fury question

Posted under General

I have never seen How To Train Your Dragon, but I like the characters & uploading art of them. Maybe someone more familiar can answer this: How do you distinguish between Toothless the character and a generic Fury?

Both of these I would expect to be Toothless (with the first being crossgender), but neither of them are tagged as such. (Or are they just missing those tags?)

It's ultimately up to the artist whether the character is intended to be Toothless or not. The only visible element to work with is that Toothless in the movies has a damaged tail like this:

though there's nothing stopping an artist from depicting him with a normal tail if they want, or another night fury with a damaged tail.
