Topic: What are your times where the blacklist would hit too broadly to use?

Posted under General

I do use my blacklist heavily, but there are times I can't use it. Not because I don't want to, but because if I did, then so many things that don't bother me would be caught in the crossfire that I'd have to turn the filters off anyway just to browse the site normally, so instead I just have to try to keep my stomach under control. I'm curious, do you have any cases like that?

For me, the biggest unblacklistable tag is sweat. Sweat being fetishized makes me very nauseous. But I can't blacklist it because it so often appears in contexts where it doesn't gross me out, from some incidental detail to a cartoony reaction sign. Heck, it'd blacklist my own profile pic!

I hate gaudy looking lazy recolor Pokemon OCs but blacklisting "pokemon alternate_color" is too broad.
Sometimes the alternate color is very close to official, sometimes it's random neon eyebleed. It could also be something other than a Pokemon in the image that's an alternate color.

Also, macro/micro. Even when its safe rated there's still stuff that's obviously fetishized that I can't filter without missing innocent stuff.

the sweat thing is a thing for me too, it usually annoys me to see sweaty fur specifically because species with fur do not sweat from their fur, they sweat from their paws, anywhere they have far less fur, have thin + large ears to release heat and pant to offset heat. Only humans sweat that much.

another is amputee tags. I'm not usually that into it and don't like the fetishization aspect, but there are cases where someone just happens to be an amputee and isn't fetishized so i can't block it

One of mine was foot_focus.

Posts like post #6260131 are what made me blacklist it, but post #5898230 and plenty of my other favorites are included. So I just unblacklisted it and tried to not let the first example deter me much.

I guess it isn't that big of a problem for me. My condolences.

I don't think that post should be tagged that.

Seems fine to me, there’s a lot of emphasis on the movement of the feet, draws the attention to them more than anything else in the picture.

the way the other *_focus tags are used, the term "focus" is usually more referencing how much of the frame is consumed by the thing and/or it's closeness to the "camera". it feels odd to tag this on a fairly neutrally framed shot like this when I don't think we'd do that in other cases.

I don't blacklist this, but oral can be an issue in my searches. I'm often not interested in it as the 'main attraction' but have no issue with it existing as foreplay. Including stuff like '~vaginal ~anal' unfortunately eliminates ambiguous penetration and less common forms of non-penetrative sex while also not blocking images/videos that are mostly oral with a tiny bit of something else.

Gore. I added it to my blacklist because I didn't want to see the ultra-bloody stuff like the aftermath of a serial killer. Or a picture of some woman's guts just spilling out of her in detail. Or guro. Or intense, graphic torture. That kind of thing.

Unfortunately, that means tamer stuff, or ones where it's at least not the focus, can get caught up sometimes.

I've used foot_fetish so at least it would eliminate stuff like footjobs.

I blacklist parasite and infestation but the thing that particularly bothers me about those tags is like... insects, and stuff squirming under the skin. A simple slug thing going in someone's hole isn't going to bother me, but that sort of scenario comes up a lot in the infestation tag. Also people tag parasite on parasitic creatures that aren't doing parasitic things.

rape is another one I leave unblacklisted, because the vast majority of posts depicting rape don't do it in a way that distinctly makes me uncomfortable. Dare I say many of them even look consensual and without external context could just be ignored on that front.
