Not quite the same. They're the same structure and the words might be used interchangeably most of the time but their shapes and purpose are different, similar to nails vs. claws. Birds with "bills" use them more for grabbing and holding while "beaks" are more for pecking, piercing, and tearing.

Bills are a sub-type of beak, so an implication would be a better choice than an alias.

I kinda like this idea. It IS a very recognisable category of beak shape. Seems it would be a shame to completely lose a way to find or avoid it when searching. But this rename would make it a lot clearer as a tag.

what about platypus bills? they're visibly extremely similar but structurally/functionally very different, and are also, notably, not beaks.
