Topic: Why the numbers post of Andromorph/Cuntboy is few than Gynomorph/Futanari?

Posted under General

Let's see the number here. (THE NUMBER MASON, WHAT DO THEY MEAN?!)

In the E621.net,

Andromorph/Cuntboy is about 30.000,
Gynomorph/Futanari is about 238.000? ???
Female is 3.000.000
Male is also 3.000.000

-

In the rule34,

Andromorph/Cuntboy is about 76.102
Gynomorph/Futanari is about 1.212.369

Male is about 6.118.036
Female is about 9.761.191!!!

like literally, Andromorph/Cuntboy is male, but why the Male, Female, and even Gynomorph/Futanari is higher?

Why is this happened?

Because majority of porn art is by and for men who are interested in women, so most of the art is going to be either just women, or straight content with focus on women, and men existing primarily for viewer to imagine themselves in their shoes. Men with vaginas are not going to fit into this equation well.

Femininity has broad appeal (even androphiles are largely split between masculine and feminine men!), penises have broad appeal, but these are not true for masculinity and vaginas.

Muscle-girl enjoyers do not see them as "masculine women", but strong women.
Tomboy enjoyers see them as strong women or those with relatable interests, not manly sex objects who are supposed to be treated like men; a tomboy's relationship to their gender is different to a femboy's.
Unusual penis placement and similar tags have more examples than their vulval equivalents like unusual vulva placement.
A pussy is essentially replaceable. While non-penile penetrations are possible, acts such as fisting do not themselves inflict mutual pleasure, and everybody is presumed to have at least two other holes: a mouth and an anus. There are still plenty of fantasies that involve oral or anal penetration being pleasing for the recipient (cum addiction, prostate milking, etc.)

Futanari means to have both sets of genitals, so it's synonymous with herm.

Sort of. From my time on non-furry imageboards I recall that intersex tags are very messy. On the biggest anime boorus, futanari means "female-appearing-character with a penis"; more specific confusingly named sub-tags exist for when the vulva can be visually confirmed/denied.

I'll add that even for the minority that like andromorph posts, they likely don't exclusively like andromorphs, or at least from my perspective; that decreases the number of artists creating work & the audience that would upload it to a booru. Add that to the fact canonically andromorph characters are more likely to be tagged as male under TWYS when you can't see their genitalia (after all, unlike herm & gynomorph, there's not really a clear visual indicator like a bulge that would indicate what their genitals are), & that further drives down the numbers.

And if you can see their genitalia, there's a risk of them being tagged as flat_chested female depending on just how masculine they do or don't look.

I do want to say that andromorphs have seen a bit of gain in market share over time. prior to 2022, fewer posts per year were tagged andromorph than herm and since but since they have been higher, it's to the point where the [andromorph]] tag will likely out populate herm within the next year or two.

I'm not sure if this is a shift in the site's demographics as of the pandemic, or just everyone started liking boys more for some reason. since around the start of the pandemic for some reason, since around that same time the same thing happened with the male tag's growth surpassed female's.

I'm curious how much of that is mistags. Ever since the tag was renamed to andromorph, I've seen a not-insignificant number of posts tagged that without characters having any visible genitalia/camel toe, while also lacking the anthro tag, suggesting the tagger either mistyped anthro and took the incorrect autocomplete without noticing, or are unfamiliar with what andromorph means and thought it was "anthromorph".

well, I went through and cleaned up those tags a couple years ago, so everything from ~2024 and before should be relatively accurate.

That's the Japanese definition of the word but in practice the internet tends to treat it as gynomorph outside of e621. Or at least gynomorph-inclusive. Really, the state of futanari as a fetish is a big mess, as BraxienArchivist said. No one fully agrees or understands what it means. If they're not fighting over physical features, terminology ensures everyone's not on the same wavelength

That's not even the half of it. Some people get very heated about the presence or absence of balls on them. Those are legitimate preferences but honestly, it's pretty funny seeing how tribalistic people get about it.

Trying to figure out how some other more japanese/anime oriented sites (like danbooru) tag genders is such a pain in the ass, like danbooru has "futanari" (seems like an umbrella), "full-package futanari", "futa without pussy" (which is apparently also "newhalf"?), "intravaginal_futanari", but considering these doesn't have the counting tags (eg 1boy) they aren't gender tags ???

My utter confusion is likely part not being within the culture, but I also blame the site for being utterly unable to find a good explanation page for just tagging genders, the only info I could find was buried in other general tagging pages, which seems to suggest they only have "boy", "girl", and "other"

I mean it's not even consistent across weeb spaces. E-Hentai uses female:futanari how we tag herm and female:shemale how we tag gynomorph. looking at wiki pages like this, their tag ideology is somewhat closer to ours overall (although the way they conceptualise/categorise vore is insane to me).

Even with non-drawn pornography, we see the same trends. It's honestly probably a lot more in favor of andromorph content here relative to the wider internet. Porn involving trans women is massively popular among straight men. Cisgender gay men seem to prefer their men in porn with penises. I speculate it's partly because people enjoy what's familiar to them. Maybe if a lot more people with vaginas used the site, we'd see an uptick in men with vaginas too?
