Topic: So tired of these commonly missing tags, as they're all on my blacklist...

Posted under General

I'm weirdly picky (in my own words, probably not actually, idc) when it comes to my porn. HOWEVER, when my blacklist doesn't work, because people neglect to add these tags and it falls on me to add them, it's just... annoying, and an instant turn-off.

If there's sex, people will generally tag "sex", SOMETIMES "male/female, male/male, intersex/female" etc., MAYBE "penetration", but nowadays almost never "male_penetrating_male, male_penetrating_female, intersex_penetrating_female" etc.
If there's diapers, they'll try to be all cute and tag it "unclean_diaper" and that's it... and not "feces, urine" etc., but like... bruh my blacklist doesn't work if you don't use the right words ffs.

Mostly a rant post since there's no systematic way to fix this, and I always fix it when I come across it so the next person doesn't have to, but UGH I come here to be horny and look at porn, not edit tags for 80% of it...

I'd say this is what implications are for but unfortunately, I think those are probably only good going from more specific to less, or at best laterally.

Unfortunately, the only recourse we have is to go to images we find objectionable but are not tagged properly, edit them to have the correct tag to be caught by our blacklist, and move on.

You should not expect to get horny while trying to discover new content on e621. Most new content can stop you.
You should have a time to discover things, fix tagging, and maybe putting some horny stuff to sets for later.
And have a time to get back at good stuff using your sets and/or searching with order:score or order:favcount. Your can do any combinations of personal set, favlist, tags you want to get now, and a good order.

I probably, myself, should rely more on those combinations.

I mean, I dislike humanoid_penis, but over 2175 of my 2915 tag edits include adding that tag. That means around 75% of my tag edits are adding a common tag that I dislike seeing.
It's the nature of the beast. You just need to add tags that are missing.

And you will always find new things to blacklist, too.
I'm almost always adding a new artist to my blacklist because they focus on a kink I dislike, or find a new kink where I think 'Huh. I could have gone forever without seeing that! Onto the blacklist it goes.' and then continue browsing.

PSA, you can add custom tags to the post editor using the Frequent Tags setting here.

I wan't aware of that. That's going to be a time saver - thank you.
