Topic: [REJECTED] Tag implication: sunglasses_on_face -> sunglasses

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

Am I suggesting this implication for the wrong reason? Or am I misunderstanding what implications are supposed to do? Seems like no one agrees with me.

You're understanding the functions of implications correctly, it just so happened that in this case there's a tag that's likely a better candidate for the implication.

If you want to alter it based on EightOfLakes' suggestion, you can reject the implication yourself and then use the "Request BUR" feature to do something like:

alias sunglasses_on_face -> wearing_sunglasses
imply wearing_sunglasses -> sunglasses

and in the field labeled "Forum Topic" you can put in the forum ID (the numbers after "forum_topic/" in the URL, in this case "62075") and it'll append the BUR onto this thread.

The bulk update request #13404 is active.

create implication sunglasses_on_face (447) -> wearing_sunglasses (1690)
create implication sunglasses_on_head (6847) -> wearing_sunglasses (1690)

Reason: I actually can see some value in keeping this tag, because sunglasses specifically are frequently worn in more than one method.

So I think both methods should be implicated through -> wearing_sunglasses, which already implicates -> sunglasses (so it will still achieve what this OP suggestion was for, but a little more streamlined with the other parts this way).

EDIT: The bulk update request #13404 (forum #482789) has been approved by @furrypickle.

I don't think sunglasses_on_head should be considered wearing_sunglasses. When they're on the head, they're more like being stored for later, in a non-functional capacity. Like having a shirt slung over your shoulder is "wearing shirt".
