I looked through the changes tab in my account; and I found edits I don’t remember making, and some of the edits I do remember show me adding & removing tags that I know I didn’t touch.
What’s going on? Is the site misattributing things to me, or something.
I’m leaving this in the general category because I don’t know where else to put it.

Don't worry. This is expected behavior. The reason is that the system makes aliases and implications when requests are approved, but doesn't have anyone to credit them to on a post until someone makes an edit on it. When you saved your own edits, the system finally had a way to record the changes, basically giving you some free tag changes. You're good.

An additional example to what you've seen with your own edit history is with "<3" which got aliased to heart_symbol, so all the people making post changes where they're replacing the former with the latter, aren't actually doing so manually.
