Topic: Is "tag what you see" no longer a rule?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Sorry if I'm out of the loop on this, but I've seen an increase in posts that tag sexes like "male", "female", "intersex", etc when the characters are ambiguous/showing no obvious signs of that sex. The "lore" tags are usually left empty as well. Am I missing something...?

Anyone can upload posts and edit tags, so there are always mistags floating around until someone sees them and fixes it usually

TWYS being removed as a tagging policy is something that will never happen.

Sometimes, character gender can be inferred without any visible genitalia/breasts and purely from secondary sexual characteristics alone, see howto:tag genders.
If they are completely lacking in anything that could suggest their gender, then just fix the tags and make them ambiguous_gender.

Context? The site gets ~2000 posts/day and tagging doesn't exactly scale well.
