Has anyone who's challenged a deletion actually gotten it reversed? Or is it a lost cause

Updated

if your post was deleted and you feel like it shouldn't have been, message the staff member that deleted it and explain why you think their decision should be reversed. posts have been undeleted before, so it's up to you to decide whether you want to ask for an undeletion or not.

i guess you can as long as you're familiar with the rules, personally i fucked over that

Yes, it has happened. Janitors and Admins aren't infallible. We can be tired, not have their head in the game, get tunnel visioned, and many other things. So, sometimes, we goof. That said, we don't make it a habit of goofing, so, more often than not, the deletion was legit.

Except Mairo. For him, it's best to just skip to escalating.

Yes. Once.
In 8 years and hundreds and hundreds of messages and only instance I can recall was once. Was really ashamed because it was clearly my mistake.

This is why I have asked for dedicated system for contesting deletions and approvals, because majority can be dealt with by just citing sites rules and guidelines and explaining that no, we do not accept Princess Peach stuff even if there is hundreds of posts with Princess Peach in it.

This is also the reason why all customer services these days suck because it's much easier for AI to answer the same canned responce that answers the customers query and those with actual problems get stuck.

Yes, here
I was upset about the deletion for about three seconds then considered that it was an understandable mistake to make. Messaged the janitor and pointed out the details that indicate the character is an anthro.

Since post events started being tracked about 17 years ago, 44,154 undeletions were recorded. At least a few of these have been walked back by now, including takedowns, AI-related re-deletions after finding stronger proof/disclosures, etc.

Post events in their current form (https://e621.net/post_events which I assume you're using since 589 pages * 75 is 44175) are very new and did not track back that far, they were backfilled from the mod actions which while now being broken and not listed in the search may also have some that were not backfilled into the post events
