Well that's an interesting term I'd never heard of before. I'm not really sure how applicable it is here because it seems like infibulation also involves other genital mutilation like full or partial removal of the clitoris.

Probably shouldn't. In common usage, infibulation involves more than just sewing/stitching.

(this also means that e621's wiki page for infibulation is currently inaccurate, and doesn't clearly and obviously apply to one of the two images tagged with it)

Separately, the sewed_pussy tag is currently being added entirely by a single user - Espritdupain - who has also created the sewed_pussy wiki page. They include piercings in their definition, which causes overlap with tags like chastity_piercing, and muddies the connotation of sewing involving the use of thread.

Would it make sense to try to avoid that overlap by limiting the scope of sewed_pussy/sewn_pussy to works with obvious or implied use of thread, before it becomes a massive clean-up project?

Technically speaking infibulation only refers to the stitching part (a foreskin can be infibulated, or someone's mouth for example.)
