Reason:

They're the same thing but 'game_controller' is less to type and more commonly used.
Also suggesting that 'wii_remote' implicate 'game_controller'.

Related: should images tagged for game consoles be moved from 'console' to 'game_console'? An alias might not be appropriate as 'console' could be used to refer to a computer console (there's at least one already tagged for this usage), but perhaps that usage is adequately filled by 'computer'.

also videogame_controller and other specific console brands, like xbox_controller

eh, makes sense to me. actually, if you think bout it, nintendo uses strange controller's nowadays. cosmetic differences aside, the various playstation and xbox (xbox/360/one/etc.) controllers are pretty much all the the same design, the same as the gamecube controller give or take a button or 2. nintendo is the one that kept changing things in regards to controllers.

heck, even this logitech gamepad f130 gamepad i got for the pc(my laptop) is literally no different than a xbox or playstation controller in how many matching buttons it has. it just looks different is all (and is quite smooth and easy to hold).

Well, after going through controller -game_controller and tagging all the game controllers, it appears that controller is almost exclusively used for game controllers. I suggest moving the other uses to remote or remote_control and aliasing controller to game_controller.
