These characters are from an ask blog that somescrub does named Hugtastic Pinkie Pie. The look and personality is essentially 98% canon but with an alternate cutie mark. Currently they only imply fan_character.

I know we have done this in the past for some well-known characters (namely Princess Molestia) but I wanted to bring this one up for discussion as it's right on the borderline of being canon.

Thoughts?

No, I ask seriously. Is there going to be a tag rainbow_dash_without_wings, or maybe rainbow_crash. There are, AFAIR, two tags like princess_molestia. They are not consistent with how we tags things that doesn't have toxic fandom ( BTW most fan character tags, like crossgendered version of mlp characters, are still invalid. Those two are exceptions.) and and both have quantum definitions that are in many states at the same time. However even when some admins were lying arguing why those tags are valid they still said that they are supposed to be more than just character with different picture on a butt.

And here we are today. We're about to validate tags for characters with different picture on a butt. If we're validating that then should I create rainbow_crash tag? After all not having wings is much more important change than this. It's whole new different canon! In this version of Equestria night last forever. When 6 mares went to prevent this from happening there were stopped by a broken bridge. Unfortunately with Rainbow's wings gone there was no pony among the six of them that could fly. Their quest was a failure and now everyone is under tyranny of Nightmare Moon. That's slightly more important change than how you butt looks like.

To be completely serious. How about aliasing character to pinkie_pie, and if there's REALLY big need to distinguish it from original PP then how about something like alternative_cutie_mark tag?

There isn't really any need to alias it. The tag was made today to settle a tagging dispute. Based on how we treat fan characters, it does count as a fan character. What this thread is about is whether we treat them like partial canon or not.

For the record, here's what I've been able to dig up:

There's also forum #44921 which I created because some people were tagging female version of discord as eris.

I still fail to see any fan characters on pic in original post.

Is tagged with queen chrysalis. No fan character tag.
I really see no reason why pic you mentioned should have any other tag than pinkie_pie and artist tags.

These posts will be tagged with only the regular mlp character tags and the copyright tag "hugtastic_pinkie_pie". I've moved all of the posts over and tagged them accordingly.

Additionally I've aliased the somecrub tags to the hugtastic_pinkie_pie tag (for blacklisting purposes) and removed the fan_character tag from all of these.
